Tanner wasn't much for opening presents. The only reason he is sitting with me in this picture is because I made Tommy move him closer. He was good for the first present. We opened the second, which was a cute dump truck for outside. He was pushing it and the front popped up and hit him in the lip. Poor baby busted his lip and started bleeding. That was it for the presents...he was done! He got SOOO much...TOO much! I opened the rest of them for him! Lots of clothes, books, and toys...he is just a little bit spoiled!

I originally wanted to make a cake that was a cow. Then it turned into a cow with farm animal cupcakes. Finally, I decided on a BARN and farm animal cupcakes. I searched online and someone already had my idea....BUT I do think this one turned out cuter!
He belongs to our friends Daniel and Courtney...they are a farming family too. I think they will be big buddies in the future! Gunner is about 7 months old now...so 5 months younger than Tanner. They live a few miles up the road...some of our closest neighbors.
Tanner and Emery...I work with Tara, Emery's mom, and we are always joking that they are meant for each other! Check out Kim and Carter in the backgroud. We had our own personal petting zoo! Tommy brought up a baby calf that we are having to bottle feed. It is so precious!
Okay, so the pictures above are in no particular order. I still haven't mastered loading the pictures in sequential order. Oh well!!

We had Tanner's birthday at our house on March 13, 2010. Obviously, it was a farm theme. I fell in love with the set of birthday decorations that I ordered offline after an unsuccessful search in Katy. It took a lot of work, but I wouldn't trade it! The day was beautiful...little windy...but beautiful and we had a really good time!
We spent Saturday morning getting everything ready! We had a swimming pool with plastic balls, a tent with a tunnel, and a jumpy for the kids to play on. What else would you need for a 1 year old's b-day party?
Funny story about the jumpy...originally I called a friend to see if I could borrow her daughter's jumpy. It was a much smaller jumpy(one for only a few kids). She told me that a kid had "taken a stick to it" so it didn't work very well anymore. So there went that idea...I really didn't want to spend the money to rent a big one because I didn't know how much we would use it! I was telling Dianne(Tommy's mom) about wanting to find a little one and she told me that she had one that we could use! I don't know why this surprised me because there are very FEW things that she doesn't have. She bought a jumpy for her church so that they wouldn't have to keep renting one with the stipulation that she could use it anytime! SWEET!!! We didn't have to pay for it and I think that they adults had more fun than the kids did!
I know that Tanner won't remember his 1st birthday, but I just wouldn't feel right about not having a party for him! I am so thankful for all the people who came to celebrate with us! We had an amazing day!!
